Don’t you love it when you come across something that solves a problem that you have but hadn’t really put any effort into solving.
For me Read it Later is one of those solutions. It is a Firefox addon that allows you to mark pages for later reading, you can even save them for offline reading if you want.
All you do is click a tick icon in your location bar in Firefox 3 and the page is added to your list. Later when you have time to read the page you can click another icon to see your list of saved pages.
Added bonus, you can sync your list between computers, you can also view the list via RSS.
This is such well thought out software that covers all the areas that I can think of, great job.

Nothing like a little thriller movie for a rainy weekend, just watched Perfect Stranger with Bruce Willis and Halle Berry.
The movie is about an undercover journalist and how far she would go to get a story. There are a lot of layers here as there are a few things going on at once. With a few nice twists here and there its well made and keeps the pace moving quite nicely.
Overall: Quite enjoyed this movie, worth a rental if you like a good mystery/thriller.

So I wanted a way to split my Firefox window, enter: Split Browser.
What is it:
Gives you the ability to split the contents of the Firefox window, how you see fit. You can split to the left, right, top and bottom.
This allows you to see multiple tabs at the same time in the one Firefox window.
Why use it:??
Opening a new window is messy, especially if you want to just look at 2 sites at the same time while swapping between other apps, this way you don’t have to bring up two or more Firefox windows, the single Firefox window is already split how you want.
Just installed it and so far works fine.

Adobe PDF files are everywhere on the web. Problem is that reading them in a browser can be a real pain. Here to save the day is PDF Download.
What is it:
“Allows to choose if you want to view a PDF file inside the browser (as PDF or HTML), if you want to view it outside Firefox with your default or custom PDF reader, or if you want to download it!”
Why use it:
Very handy if you want full flexibility over your PDF viewing. I find that downloading the PDF and opening it up directly in Adobe Acrobat reader works a lot better for me. The adobe reader browser plugin just seems to slow everything down.

Well I just had the latest update pushed to my PC and it doesn’t work.
After uninstalling and reinstalling I now get the following error message “A previous install did not complete correctly. Finishing install.”
So I uninstall again and go to delete the “C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird” folder and find out that there is a process access it. What is it? “xpicleanup.exe” So lets kill all these off, seeing as I have 10 of the little buggers running after all my attempts.
That was successful, now time for the reinstall. This time it all goes smoothly and things are working again.
Overall it was a total time waster. Perhaps a restart of my PC would have fixed the problem, though I really shouldn’t have to do that.

The next handy little extension I have in my list is: Download Statusbar.
What is it:
It gets rid of the Firefox download window and put’s that download information into your status bar. You can easily view the status of your downloads why browsing the web.
Why use it:
This will make your life a lot easier. If you find the download window in anyway a hassle to use, then this is for you. By getting rid of that window you will save time in managing your downloads. You just double click on a downloaded file to open it and away you go. It also allows you to delete files you have downloaded if you grab the wrong one.
This is one extension that is a must have.

Todays firefox extension is: Mouse Gestures.
What does it do:
By holding down the right mouse button and then moving your mouse in a certain path eg “down then right” you can do tasks such as close tab/window, open tab/window, forward, back, zoom in, zoom out and many others.
Why run it:
This will make your web surfing a lot easier. You can quickly close tabs or go back/forward with just a click and move of the wrist. You can fully customize the gestures to suit your needs.

Todays Mozilla Thunderbird extension is: Display Mail User Agent Extension.
What is it?
This extensions will tell you what email client the email you are reading is using
Why Use it?
Ever have an issue reading an email? A quick look at what client the user was using will help you explain why (Outlook is a pain) and if your friends aren’t using Thunderbird, then you can lean on them to use it.

Todays Plugin is: Context Search.
You see the search bar that is in the top right hand corner of firefox that you can add a search plugin for just about every site out there?
Well this plugin allows you to highlight a word in firefox and then search for that term via any of the search plugins that you have.
Once you have used this, you will not go back to working without it.
