Dead Space is a new entry into the horror genre with a decent enough story that follows your standard scary movie formula.

What makes this game stand out is the great action. The game is all about using your weapons and reflexes to stay alive.

Controls handle pretty well and the inventory management system has you making tough decisions about what to keep and what to leave behind.

Dead Space also makes great use of sound, especially the bits where you are in zero gravity and without atmoshpere. The sound becomes muted and you can't hear monsters creeping up on you, this really make your nerves stand on end.

Graphihcs are great and the game has a good save system with a great checkpoint system that doesn't punish you too hard for getting killed.

Overall:

A great game, fantastic horror action that keeps the heart pumping.
